They Call Them Leaf-Peepers— Nature Walk

A message from your nature guides, Jan and Anita

Being in the midst of nature as many of you know is not only beautiful but is known to reduce stress and bring calmness and tranquility.  October is at the height of Fall foliage in the Northeast and is a perfect time to take a walk.  The nights grow longer and the air this time of year becomes crisp and cool with possible frosts occurring. For those of you not familiar, the leaves on the deciduous trees start turning yellow, orange and red resulting in a glorious array of colors.  Thus the nicknames of those walking through the woods at this time are called Leaf Peepers.

We plan on taking a nature walk along the lake bank.  To get to this location, we will have to carpool a short distance from the lodge.  The trail is fairly flat and there is an area with benches should you choose to gaze out at the lake instead. We hope to see some waterfowl on the lake.  Some possibilities are various ducks, eagle and maybe a shorebird or two.

Dress for comfort:  wear sturdy walking shoes, layered clothing for warmth, gloves and hat.  Optional if you would want to bring binoculars and/or camera.

We hope you can join us. We look forward to walking with you.
